This is an Endearingly Intense Perfume with Long Sea Voyages

We wanted to create perfumes for some of Jane Austen's most beloved characters. I was thinking- how best to do this and how to figure out what herbs the actual character would have preferred and what herbs would complement their personality traits. I also wanted these to be made in a historical manner - if possible- meaning flowers and herbs and resins that would have or could have been used at that time. As I was thinking about this I came up with the idea of looking to see if anyone had put time and effort into studying at these characters' personality traits and assigning them a likely zodiac sign - meaning the date and month they would most likely have been born. Turns out the analysis has already been done... Some may not be so hip on zodiac signs and that is fine. Historically in various cultures, they were really important from everything from marriage matches to treating your illness. They were especially used in folk traditions. Something you may not know- many plants, herbs, and resins have been assigned a zodiac sign based on their healing ability or the time of year in which they grew or even based on their symbolism. 

So we were able to put together these amazing perfumes that capture the essence of each character's personality.

Anne Elliot was persuaded, when she was 19, to break off her engagement with Frederick Wentworth, a promising young lieutenant in the Royal Navy but a commoner without fortune, and she has never married. Lonely, unloved by a stuck-up and pretentious father and older sister, little considered by a family circle incapable of recognizing her value, she leads a dull life of an almost-old maid. And yet here it is that 8 years after the naval war with France ended, in September 1814, the young man whom she has never forgotten returns to England, having earned epaulets, prestige, and fortune in the navy. The first contacts are painful. He has retained an image of her as a person too easily influenced and she sees clearly that he is still angry with her. But at age 27, she has matured and gained enough independence from her family and social circle to choose her friends and her future.

NOTE: There are bits and pieces of herbs floating in these oils. When bottling we decided to leave some of the Organic herbal goodness in with the finished product. For these perfumes, we used mostly Organic Oils, but because certain oils are not able to be extracted naturally from specific plants- we did end up using minimal and very high-quality Fragrance oils. I myself am super sensitive to anything not natural or organic and I approve of these. This doesn't take away from the amazing scent of this perfume as most of the ingredients are organic.
