We have had many requests to start offering our own line of our preferred Essential Oils. In addition to this- We now have a 5-gallon distiller, so we will be distilling our own oils. One of the reasons we can offer them at this great price is A: because we care about you guys and know the silly mark-ups and silly advertising games that many businesses give to their EO oils: Look below for more explanation. B: The amazing oils that we don't produce ourselves, are ordered such large amounts that we are able to keep the price low for you. So If you love our products you will love the chance to be able to get our top-quality essential oils. Please note: This lemon oil is not diluted so you have to dilute before use.

Lemon Essential oil is one of the most commonly used essential oils in aromatherapy, beauty, and natural cleaning products. It has a light refreshing citrusy scent. It's antibacterial and natural degreasing properties make it a must-have addition to your collection. Plus it's a very historical item to have! Studies have shown that plants with high citrus content like lemon have high levels of inflammation-fighting antioxidants. Many cosmetic companies put lemon essential oil into their products ( read the history below) because they believe that it clears skin and helps reduce inflammation.

HISTORY:
While researchers haven't been ablet o pin down an exact date for the introduction of lemons, we do know that lemon fruit often appears in the historical text and seems to travel quickly. Supposedly the first mention to date came around 90 BC. There was a festival in Jerusalem and according to the text, lemons were being thrown at a high priest ( this makes me laugh). Further documentation for lemons says that by 700AD they had already spread to places like Egypt and Iraq.

We see lemon oil popping up in 17th and 18th-century toilette articles and recipes. Our 1772 lemon scrub ( Here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/94186802/lemon-scrub-1772-great-for-all-skin?ga_search_query=Lemon%2BScrub&ref=shop_items_search_1&sca=1 ) is a great example. We start seeing Lemon Essential Oils available in apothecaries in the 17th-18th century as well. The 18th century is also the first time experiments were done on sailors suffering from Scurvy. By the 19th century, the beneficial properties of lemons were becoming well noticed and they were being used in toilet waters perfumes, and other cosmetic and apothecary items. IN the victorian period, lemon became a "harmless" recipe for removing freckles and preserving the skin. In 1931 Maude Grieve, Principal and Founder of The Whins Medicinal and Commercial Herb School and Far in Buckinghamshire, England, wrote, “The lemon is the most valuable of all fruit for preserving health.” In the 30s and 40s we see cold creams and face creams scented with lemon. We have some original examples in our collections. Lemon oil is a must-have!

What do we recommend for use:

If you make your own beauty products, you can use a few drops of lemon oil in them, or you can use it for mixing together a natural cleaner. Lemon essential oil not only has many antibacterial properties but it also has powerful cleansing properties because of its natural antimicrobial agents' limonene and b-pinene. The next time you need a safe strong cleaning agent, try this natural recipe using the power of lemon essential oil. You could also put a few drops in your diffuser. Diffusing lemon oil will release a clean fresh scent that may aid with relieving stress and anxiety. If you don't have one, put a pot of water on the stove and throw in a few spices, fruits, or a few drops oil. You can also use Lemon Essential Oil in the garage can.

Cautions: Lemon Essential Oil is non-toxic, but may cause skin irritation in some. Lemon is also photo-toxic and should be avoided prior to exposure to direct sunlight. Avoid during pregnancy. DO NOT USE INTERNALLY

Lets Talk Therapeutic Grade:
Many of you know but just in case: The term "Therapeutic Grade" was invented as a marketing ploy by essential oil suppliers. In addition, terms like "medicinal grade," or "aromatherapy grade" or "Grade A,B,C" are misleading to the customers and don't really exist. In the U.S. there is no formally approved grading standard used consistently throughout the essential oil industry. We understand this and want to share this with you. We know we listed our oils as "Therapeutic Grade". We are simply doing this because we know many of you quickly convey the term with carefully sourced high-grade EO. If you have ever tried our products ( especially those of you with high sensitivities and only wanting the best natural and organic products) you know that our oils are top-notch. Also if we didn't list it.. we would be getting e-mails asking if the oils we provide are. Our supplier does state that they are Therapeutic Grade.

*** Essential Oils are concentrated by nature. We strongly recommend they be diluted. A patch test should be performed before use for those with sensitive skin.
