A Pomatum For Wrinkles made from a 1772 recipe!

WHAT IS POMATUM: 
Pomatum is a perfumed ointment for hair, face, and skin. It can be a salve made with beeswax and oils (like spermaceti—jojoba—or almond), which produces a more stable compound, particularly in the heat and for traveling. It can also be made from a combination of scented waters, fats, and oils.

This 1772 recipe, " A Pomatum for Wrinkles," called for the juice of white lily roots, honey, and white wax to make a pomatum. Lily has been used throughout history in the skincare regimens of the wealthy.

The instructions read, "It should be applied every night and not wiped off until the next morning."

You can use this natural method to treat wrinkles during the day or before bed. We had a lot of requests to take the original recipe and make it softer. So we did. We kept the original ingredients and added some organic almond oil, natural white lily oil, and Vit. E. The original recipe called for the water of a white lily root. We took powdered lily root and soaked it so we could have an all-year-round recipe instead of a seasonal one. Because of this, there may be some traces of the powered lily root. Gently rub in this soft pomatum- sleep with it and take it off in the morning, or even wear it during the day as a moisturizer. Watch those wrinkles disappear! 

Lily Oil is great for those with sensitive skin. It has been proven to help treat wrinkles, dry skin, and spider veins. It is also recommended for use under the eye, treating burns, and preventing the formation of scar tissue. Essential lily oil is used in aromatherapy to treat individuals suffering from depression and tends to help create a feeling of modesty, happiness, and security. We also found similar or exact recipes in the years of: 1790, 1799, 1864, 1872, 1877.
