These are very fine quality and heavy-duty.  We have been searching high and low for historical brushes and combs. We think this one measures up! This is a double-sided comb, with one side being very fine and the other side consisting of general-sized teeth. These combs are generally known as nit combs. The tiny side would help keep the hair clean of bugs, but these were not just used as nit combs. They get sort of a bad image, I think. These are also used for general combs for the hair and beard. It's like 2 in 1! 
 
This lovely high-quality wooden comb is very similar to the 18th-century depiction of things for sale in Willdey's shop shown in the last photo. We have been using and selling them all season long. They have been so popular we haven't had time until now to get them up in our shop!

These are really sturdy and thick and will make a great addition to any historical kit. These have been around for centuries!
