In Egypt, both women and men used cosmetics, scents, and oils. Records show that body oil was applied daily by most citizens. Ingredients differed depending on class, but the concept of helping to moisturize and protect the skin is the same. Grape-seed oil, Myrrh, Frankincense, Geranium, and Gold were all highly praised ingredients. They were also sometimes used for mending ointments and cosmetic, spiritual, religious, and personal adornment as well. This Serum would have been exceedingly expensive. But after reading below, you will have a better understanding of why this would have been a highly prized and coveted cosmetic.
Directions: Shake the bottle well ( settling occurs) and apply a small amount to your palm or tilt your head back and apply to your cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin. Massage it in and watch your skin glow and become radiant. Gold also has other benefits.
Grape-seed Oil:
This oil is rich in beta-carotene, vitamins D, C, and E. It is packed with fatty acids and doesn't clog pores. Plus, It helps lock in moisture and is known to treat acne, tighten skin, help diminish dark circles around the eyes, moisturize, reduce scars, restore collagen, and helps keep skin young looking. It is also great for dry skin because it quickly penetrates due to its light and thin consistency. It's suitable for all skin types but is especially used by those with sensitive and/or acne-prone and oily skin. Grapes were used in ancient Egypt to help treat asthma. Grape-seed oil was used for a variety of things, including cosmetics, cooking, and apothecary ointments. It has also been shown to have been in traditional folk he-althcare for over 6,000 years.
Myrrh Oil:
is sacred to the Goddess Isis. It was one of the most sacred herbal substances of ancient Egypt and was a precious offering given to all the Deities. Myrrh oil was considered one of the Seven Sacred Oils of Egypt, and the gum resin was frequently burned as incense. Both oil and resin were used in a wide variety of perfumes and ointments. The ancient hymn to Goddess Isis refers to it as the “lotus fragrance”. Sometimes it was also called the "Tears of Horus". Magically, myrrh is used to purify, bless, and protect. It is said to increase the power aids meditation and was used to awaken awareness of the spiritual realities behind the everyday world, so you can see why Royalty like Hapshepshut would make a perfumed oil that could be applied to the skin. It also helps with wrinkles and has the power to increase the function of white blood cells, which is critical for wound hea-ling. It helps soothe chapped or cracked skin. Due to its antioxidant properties, it’s great for timeless skin, rejuvenation, stretch marks, and ecz-ema. Plus, it can also be used for minor skin irritations or wounds, such as athlete's foot, ringworm, or minor cuts. Also, several studies found that myrrh was able to inhibit the growth of eight different types of can&cer cells.
Egyptians used it not just for their temple rituals but also to embalm their pharaohs. In fact, myrrh was mentioned in the “Ebers Papyrus,” one of the oldest Egyptian medical texts (1550 BC). It was considered a Holy oil ( and still is), and some cultures used it as currency. So you can see why this was so important to the ancient Egyptians.
Frankincense Oil:
Frankincense was believed to hold a special power to help one connect and commune with the Divine. Many of the esoteric and magical uses of Frankincense are based on its affinity to the Sun ( RA). It was used as an offering incense to the Egyptian Sun god Ra and the Greek deity Apollo. The Egyptians believed frankincense held sacred connections and helped open spiritual insight, spiritual self-discipline, and the dedication to finding one true spiritual nature. Frankincense is believed to open up channels to a higher power and higher wisdom during meditation and ritual, a sacred key that unlocks the door to the divine. Egyptian pharaohs were happy to pay extraordinary prices for it. Through the sacred smoke of Frankincense, these wealthy rulers, spiritual leaders, and royals of the ancient world shared in the aromatic riches of the divine sense of smell. Hatshepsut had a number of Frankincense trees imported and planted in Thebes, even if the transplantation was unsuccessful in the long run. Egyptian women utilized the ash of frankincense for personal use by mixing it into their ko-hl. Frankincense was thought to be the sweat of the gods. It originally came from Punt, which was the birthland of the gods. Back then and today, it is used for various he-alth complaints, beauty, and skincare. It is excellent for scars and stretch marks and is reputed to slow down and or erase wrinkles. Historically it has been used for everything from deodorant and toothpaste- to food and drink flavoring. Frankincense has traditionally been used as an ingredient for a wide variety of afflictions, including ulcers, hypertension, nausea, fever, indigestion, chest coughs, and post-childbirth recovery.
Egyptian Geranium Oil:
was grown in ancient Egypt for its medicinal properties. The ancient Egyptian god of perfume was Nefertum, who was also the god of he-aling. Egyptians used geranium oil to treat cancerous tumors and beautify the skin. The use of geranium oil is known to have existed for thousands of years. The upper class typically used it to improve and beautify their skin, help with anxiety, acne treatments, and reduce inflammation in the body, which has been linked to many of today’s chronic conditions. For most users, the oil does not irritate the skin.
24KT Eat-able Gold:
Gold has been a precious and cherished metal for centuries. I find it fascinating that in our modern society, we still love gold, but we have "lost" a lot of the historical attributes and ideologies of why it was so cherished and important to our ancient generations. Gold is an all-natural mineral that is non-toxic and exhibits no interactions with other drugs, and is easily tolerated by the body. The fabulous helping properties of gold are slowly but surely being rediscovered.
Gold was said to be infused into the anointing oil that Moses used. In ancient times ( including Egyptian), gold in the body was thought to stimulate the life force and raise the level of vibration on all levels. It was also thought to boost the brain to focus more clearly. It was used for dentistry by both Egyptians and Israelites. At that time, it was common to drink Colloidal Gold. Historically it is used in surgery to patch damaged blood vessels, nerves, bones, and membranes. It was also used in the treatment of several forms of diseases. They have now found that an Injection of microscopic gold helps retard prostate cancer in men. These are old concepts that are just being rediscovered. Surgeons used gold instruments to clear coronary arteries. Historically, they believed gold helped stabilize the body’s temperature, balance, and helped increase the ability to concentrate. Ancient Egyptians also believed that gold strengthened mental function by increasing the conductivity between nerve endings in the body and on the surface of the brain. It was also used as protection. The fabulous properties of gold are slowly but surely being rediscovered. Today, we are slowly getting back to this ancient understanding.
