19th-20th Century Medium-Hard Boar Bristle Hair Brush
Length: 9" long
Width: 2.1/4" wide
Sandalwood
Did You KNOW: The first modern brushes were boar bristles because of the many benefits for the hair and scalp? Did you also know that the first modern boar brush was patented in 1854? Yep, that is correct so think Civil War, Victorian, Edwardian, 1920's, 1930's, and the 1940's.
It took us a long time to find a boar bristle hairbrush that was good enough for our shop. It needed to be as historically accurate as possible. One of the problems with many boar bristles brushes that are available today is- that they have these plastic detangler bristles mixed in with the boar bristles. We searched high and low for a top-quality amazing boar brush that was just like Grandma's. Here it is and she is beautiful. She is made from Dark Sandalwood and smells heavenly.
Throughout history- boar bristle brushes were used because they distribute natural oils throughout your hair which helps with that greasy look turning it into a soft shiny healthy vintage movie star hair. This is a medium-hard boar brush which is amazing for distributing dry shampoo, hair powder, working with hair sets to make your curls into that perfect vintage hairstyle and so much more. If you treat this brush with loving care, it will last a very very long time.
